【摘要】:Theseproceduresareusefulforresearchintobondstrengthofmasonry.Theyarenotintendedtopredictthebondstrengthofcommercialmasonryconstruction.Thebondstrengthincommerciallybuiltstructuresisdeterminedbymanyfactorsbeyondthecharacteristicsofmortar,masonryunits,andtheproceduresofthistestmethod.Note18212;Thecrossed-brickcoupletsmethodmeasuresadirecttensilestrengthofthebondbetweenthemortarandmasonryunit.Itdoesnotdeterminetheflexuralstrengthoftheunitmortarassembly.Othertestmethodsmaybemoreappropriatefordeterminingtheflexuralbondstrengthbetweenmortarandmasonryunits.TheseincludeTestMethodC1072,TestMethodsC1357,andTestMethodsE518.1.1Thistestmethodprovidestwoproceduresformeasuringbondstrengthofmortartomasonryunits:acrossedbrickcouplettensiletestforevaluatingmortar-brickbondstrengthandastacked-bond,flexuraltestforevaluatingmortar-concreteblockbondstrength.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
